To promote Mount Dora, with a focus on its historical business district, fostering trade and business awareness through various marketing activities including advertising, event sponsorship, marketing initiatives, media relations & other promotion activities for the purposes of stimulating, enhancing and maintaining the economic vitality of our local business community and town.
2010 – Celebrating our Centennial!
Legally incorporated in 1995 as a non-profit organization formerly known as the Mount Dora Village Merchants & Business Association, Inc., Visit Mount Dora, Inc. was created for the purposes of promoting downtown Mount Dora by a group of dedicated volunteers wanting to make a difference for its town.
Today, fifteen years later, this group remains committed to promoting the town’s businesses and other non-profit groups that contribute to making our historic town the wonderful quaint experience that is Mount Dora.
Visit Mount Dora, Inc. currently represents approximately 70+ businesses located in the central downtown area. The Association’s Board of Directors represents the group in its initiatives, which are primarily focused on marketing the town through advertising and promotional events and holds its meetings monthly. The general membership also meets on a bi-monthly basis.
The Association has developed an annual marketing plan, which measures on a quarterly basis its effectiveness, and markets the town utilizing a broad range of media including print, radio, TV and the internet. Additionally Visit Mount Dora, Inc. is also responsible for facilitating three of the town’s major events, including the annual Spring Antiques, Collectibles & Crafts Show & October nationally ranked Craft Fair.
